Public Meeting to Discuss Short Term Rentals

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

The St. Tammany Parish Council will hold a public meeting to discuss a proposed Parish Ordinance concerning short-term rentals. The Council is looking for public input on changing certain existing commercial zoning classifications in an effort to better manage where short-term rental properties may be located.

The meeting will take place in the
St. Tammany Parish Council Chambers (21490 Koop Dr. Mandeville), on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, and will begin at 6:30pm. The public meeting will allow residents to see the proposed ordinance, listen to a short presentation that will give context to this issue, as well as ask questions and give input.

Residents or interested parties may download a draft copy of the proposed ordinance here. The Parish Council is asking that citizens who plan to attend, and who have questions they would like addressed, to fill out a yellow question card. If a resident is unable to attend the meeting, comments may be sent to council@stpgov.org, or by calling the Council Office at 985-898-2591.

In an effort to inform citizens of the issue, the Parish Council wants citizens to know that when referring to short-term rentals, this description includes websites, mobile apps and companies like Airbnb, VRBO, HomeAway, and many others.
